It was so nice to see the Maple-kan stocked its shelves with some of my Canadian favourites! If you’re Canadian and need a souvenir for a Japanese friend - give them these maple cookies 😉

The view outside of Maple-Kan is so peaceful and relaxing. I’d love to come back on a summer day and just chill on the coast with some strawberry sweets from Ichibiko🍓

In Aomori I got the chance to try Judo for the first time! I practiced kungfu for several years in Canada so it was really nice to get back into martial arts, even if it was just for an afternoon.

If you find yourself in Aomori the one thing you MUST do is try some of their famous apples. There are so many different varieties to try, and you’ll be amazed at how different they all taste!

'A Factory' is located right across the road from Aomori Station. Inside you’ll find all kinds of fun Aomori souvenirs, and an amazing little burger shop that also sells hot apple cider.

Nebuta is the famous summer festival of Aomori! I’ve been to the Warasse Nebuta Museum probably 5 times now, and I still love it!! I’ve never been to the actual Nebuta festival but this is definitely the next best thing. It’s located right across from Aomori Station so make sure you pop in and check it out!

If you’re visiting Aomori during the wintertime, prepare yourself for A LOT of snow!
It’s common to have several feet of snow on the ground throughout the city. Fortunately though, It makes for some really beautiful photos! :)

I was taught how to properly wear a traditional judo uniform, just like a kimono, an 'obi' is used to tie it all together. Judo clothing is often grabbed and tugged so needs to be tough! Here, the coach and I are pulling each other's collars to make sure our uniforms are on securely.

In spring, Hirosaki Castle has the best views of the sakura, but we also recommend visiting during winter in the evenings too! The snow on the trees is lit up in pink, so it looks like snowy-sakura!

Look what I found on the beach! Have you ever seen one of these before? I think it’s called a sea hare in English. It was super squishy and sticky like a slug! We returned it back to the ocean☺️❤️

I was taking a photo of the view and I heard a voice calling out from across the beach. This sweet lady was calling me over to show me something! She had found a sea urchin on the beach and wanted to show me.

USAGI Botanica in Morioka! The perfect place for a cozy, plant-based lunch❤️ The owners are super friendly and always up for a chat! The best part is they use fresh local vegetables from the area in all their dishes.
